over on patreon Baily Thomas asked for cats and mushrooms, so here are my semi-cottage-core (more like weird-random-house-in-the-woods-core) cat girls coming back from a mushroom hunt hike. this is literally the only thing i had the patience to color this month and i did so mostly so i could practice backgrounds.

i don’t know if i ever posted anything about them here, but they’re from a stray comic idea i had a million years ago and never got around to. the blurb i wrote about them on my saucy blog follows:

Marguerite (the black cat) is a priestess who works in what is basically an old gods retirement community  and is currently the sole caretaker outside of followers who make  offering deliveries and such (things get testy when the kids don’t  visit). One stormy evening a girl in beat up pajamas named Andria (calico) shows up at her  door saying her car broke down and she needs a place to stay for the  night. Very sus. Things soon become sexy, spooky, and surprisingly  domestic. Also the eldritch horror gods are bored with scrabble and  start shipping them immediately.

The Crown Witch of the Warmcellar Mouse Queen is crafty in all the ways a mouse can be. She brews her own wine, sews her own clothes, and kills her own enemies. A lovely and jovial sort as long as you stay on her good side. Make sure to attend one of her feasts, she has many tales to share with anyone who shows up at her table.

a mix of patreon prompts came together for this nice lady. Amy Crook asked for shed skin which inspired all the shed snake skin outfits, Twistysongs wanted witchy white mice which inspired the character, and Beezlebuddy wanted thrones which inspired the very pissed off wine ingredient/fancy chair. i like to think that the snake body moves independently from the head, and has become one of her many Tails which she uses to carry out her tiny witchy will.  and speaking of tails, the rest of the mice in her Queen have similar tail mutations, though hers are way more advanced. while Rat Kings have physically connected tails from whence they draw their power, Mouse Queens  are connected at the spiritual level. this causes them to grow new branching tails that correspond with those connections. Crown Witches are mice who have the ability to make connections with beings beyond mouse-kind, and so have abnormally long, root-like tails.

Another Britt McGinnis patreon commission sketch. She asked for a dragon so I drew these two dragon townsfolk. A little shopkeeper making delivery rounds and a tired innkeeper stopping to have a drink.

i make no promises, but it is inktober, so have some peaceful lizard folk preparing for harvest festival.

That Lesbian Turian asked for any kind of parrot as a patreon prompt, so here’s a kakapo gentleman.

his name is Marv, short for Marvelous. he never tells people his full name since he’s sure they would make fun if they knew.

being nocturnal, Marv works nights in a mostly classy semi-upscale bar as a bartender/therapist/lounge singer (whichever one is necessary at the time.) he writes personalized love songs and poems as a side gig, which makes people think that he’s an amazing love guru but really he’s just good at thinking up metaphors for doin’ it and comparing eyes to various pools of things. surface level and safe. if he had to give an actual heartfelt declaration to anyone who knows if he’d survive. he’s never even been on a date.  he’s been asked before but he either didn’t get it or thought is was a joke.

Beach Blanket Blasphemy

september’s pin-up from patreon! september was kind of a downer, so I chose to go with my favorite frivolous fun time oc, the Celestial Anime Cat Being. even though its officially fall its still a million degrees where i live most days, so i felt a bikini was in order. I wanted that Halloween hype though so it got all Beach Goth.

a lot of my drawings have been commissions or secret project drawing lately but here’s a young frog scholar and a snake for hire.

they both look like protagonists for a series of cute children’s books that lean towards a surprising amount of graphic violence and political intrigue and i refuse to apologize about it. heck, that snake might make it into Downtrodden one day if i make snakes a thing.

my dad found me a cheap new laptop to replace my old one (thank you for your service my trusty Coco, sorry about your hinges but it had long been time for you to rest. i’ll keep your hard drive with me always) and i’m just getting around to getting it how i want it. i miss windows 7 desperately and deskpins doesn’t work anymore but its cool. anyway, i had to re-create all my brushes in sai so i threw out some character designs to practice them on. they’re inspired by @mopinks draw a dog tuesdays.
