the fourth tale from the Haunted Road Side Diner. fresh from patreon.
i know i spelled ‘raccoon’ wrong, but by the time i noticed it was too late. sometimes it just be like that on inktober.
Android? Cyborg? No one could tell if the quips about being a particularly fashionable leftover settlement-prep unit from the start of the colony centuries ago, or the weird throwaway snippets implying a human past raising chickens were jokes or not. Both would account for their disdain towards The Things That Looked Like Foxes that paced the border sometimes, but his dry humor made it so hard to parse.
from patreon. sometimes you just wanna draw a robit.
“The water dragon keeps our river safe. Their legacy is sweet clear water and lush crops and Tar seeping from the blood of those that seek them out. You can even see their work on their flesh. The poisons they’ve absorbed for centuries shift across their skin in bursts of color as they walk the festival, gently inspecting things with golden whiskers. The elders say to make our offerings pretty and our conversation pleasant as we give thanks.
But we must never touch them.
And we especially must never search out the source of the lovely, lonely, singing we hear during the summer rains.”
Ad Camp on patreon asked for something that was fun to look at, but not to touch. so have a dragon.
the goblin owner of the secretive underground teahouse will grant you entry if you have a drink and chat with them. Do You:
*take the strange tea gladly
*tell them how wild it is that there seem to be so many people from your extensive collection of wanted posters in here
*decline and leave as fast as you can

“Humans will talk to dogs and lamps and ferns my dear. You’ll pack-bond with anything. So I don’t tend to bother with the ‘form you’ll understand’ nonsense. I just wanted to fit into these leggings today.”
over on patreon, Mae asked for Eldritch In Gold. so have this Friend.

i was always told that if you hit an opossum you should check the pouch for babies and get them somewhere safe.
catch up inktober from patreon. @anoki requested something parasitic. while i have other things in mind for that prompt, i had to draw one of my favorite parasite oc’s, the Mainlander Queen.
just a nice old lady inviting you into her parlor for a casual tea. nothing to be afraid of.
especially since you’d probably be incapable of feeling fear after getting that close to her.

i have a bunch of mini story/comic ideas from when my mom and I drove to
Georgia earlier this year, all from the perspective of animals
scavenging or traveling down an area they call the haunted road side
diner. this particular comic was inspired by how weird it is to see
garbage bags left by prisoner clean up crews left in a neat line down
the median with no one in sight, and suspicious bags left by even more
suspicious trucks on the side of the road.
i make no promises, but it is inktober, so have some peaceful lizard folk preparing for harvest festival.
